Tech x Climate Story

In 1972, NASA launched the ERTS-1 satellite from California. It circled the globe for the following 6 years. It was the first space mission that studied Earth’s climate. By 2007, 17 space missions actively reported on the state of Earth’s resources, pollution and environment.

We live in a time when the health of our planet is tracked by the same scientists and space-age tech that explore deep space.

The Role of Tech Today

Since NASA’s first Earth-space missions, the role of technology in our lives has become exponentially more complex. It affects each of us in different ways. The result is often a mixed narrative.

As we contend with climate change, we have an opportunity to tell a new story: tech leaders for the planet. The reality is that tech and climate are intertwined.

Tech is future innovation, and climate change is future risk.

By amplifying Colorado’s tech voice to push for the necessary climate action, we align the tech narrative with a responsible future.

Signal’s Role

An integral part of Signal’s mission is developing the narratives of tech companies to include the way they participate in the climate dialogue. As we elevate the tech voice to call on government action, we believe tech leaders have a great opportunity to include a new frontier of climate awareness into their story.

Tech is synonymous with economic growth. In Colorado, tech accounts for:

10%

OF THE WORKFORCE

14%

OF THE ECONOMY
